“The Angry Pig”

Well, not so much angry. More like, mystified. The pig says to himself: “How it is that an animal as smart as me ends up food? What’s wrong with this picture, I ask you”.

If intelligence had anything to do with who eats whom, antibiotic-resistant bacteria would never plague us. Humans often contend, however, that the ordering of who eats whom actually reflects moral stature. Thus antibiotic-resistant bacteria would appear to have a right & perhaps even a moral obligation to eat us; but still unclear is the basis for humans consuming pigs, since it is difficult to discover an immoral or amoral act committed by pigs, including gluttony, in which humans do not indulge more often.

That’s a great observation Merritt. You sure see the ironies of our violence and profit in the name of “food”.

Diane gets it. Anybody who gets what Alice Walker said is the most fit for life on Planet Earth:

“The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites or women for men.” –Alice Walker,

“If you love an animal called pet how can you eat an animal called dinner?” –Seen on bumper sticker, http://s_t_4animalrights.tripod.com/

Thank you Diane for your compassionate and conscious art!

May you and your art thrive,
    Larry
